About Shuddhachittam
Shuddha teaches Traditional Hatha Yoga, guiding students to witness the body, breath and thoughts, creating mindfulness through Yoga. She believes that mind and body healing can be experienced through the traditional Yoga postures, bestowing benefits to the practitioner by holding the poses and repetition. Shuddha also has an ardent interest in alignment in her classes and regularly attends Iyengar classes to deepen her experience of postural awareness.
Shuddha’s interest in spirituality started from a young age when she practised meditation with the desire to astrally project and see auras… unfortunately she didn't succeed at that time! She has travelled to India 8 times and has attended various courses in the Tantric traditional practices of Chakra Shuddhi, Prana Vidya, Tattwa Shuddhi, Puja, Havan and Yajnas.
Shuddha started practising Yoga when she was 14 years old at the Sivananda Yoga Ashram in Perth. 9 years later she completed her first teacher training and started teaching in 2005. Shuddha has completed over 1900 hrs of Yoga teacher training and lived as a Yoga Monk (Sannyasin) at the Bihar School of Yoga from 2011-2013. She has her own daily practice of Yoga and Meditation and frequently attends Vipassana meditation silent retreats to deepen her practice. Meditation is one of the main passions in her life as it has helped her to gain greater insight into herself and the tools to help maintain emotional equilibrium through the ups and downs that life offers.
Shuddha is also a qualified Hypnotherapist, Theta Healer and Ayurvedic Consultant and Massage therapist.
