This seminar answers the 3 biggest questions students have with regard to the HSC: 1) how scaling really works 2) how internal assessment works and how the school I attend affects these marks 3) how do I take a strategic approach to achieve my ATAR goal.

In this seminar you will learn:

  • Exactly how your ATAR score is calculated
  • How scaling, moderation and alignment applies
  • How to translate your desired ATAR into a mark in each of your subjects
  • The effect your school has on your ATAR (will going to a particular school 'pull' you up, or vice versa)
  • How different subjects scale (for e.g. Mathematics vs. Humanities vs. Sciences vs. English) and what subjects you should consider dropping in Year 12
  • How to use this information to gain a competitive advantage in your HSC
