World Environment Day is celebrated each year on 5 June to build awareness and action for the protection of the environment.

This year's focus is land restoration, desertification and drought resilience, under the slogan “Our Land. Our Future. We are #GenerationRestoration”, as 2024 marks the 30th anniversary of the UN Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD).

Restoring the lost generation - Jewells Ecological Burn will provide insight into a long term restoration project in Lake Mac City. It will aim to give participants a better understanding of some of the issues faced by our natural areas and what is being done to restore them. The presentation will be followed by a Q&A session.
