  • WHAT WILL WE DO?

    Daily guided breathwork performances, delve deep into the cold (e.g., plunges & hikes), group sessions (e.g., meditation, sharing circles & theory), share delicious, local, organic foods, free time, science & benefits PowerPoint presentation, learn other comprehensive breathing techniques to suit your lifestyle and the cold.
    We aim to hike in the snow with snowshoes (If needed) to the summit of Mt Kosciuszko dressed only in our shorts and t-shirt.*Important note: while the goal is to summit Mt Kosciuszko, this is not guaranteed, it will depend on weather conditions.

Feel drawn to joining the Winter Expedition but have no cold exposure experience? Go for it! Leah and her team are experienced in training beginners in winter and are there to support and guide you.

WHAT’S INCLUDED:

  • Accommodation and facilities (various room configurations available - see below)
  • We also have a ticket option if you have your own accommodation - see below.
  • Delicious, healthy meals; both meat & vegetarian (breakfast, lunch afternoon tea & dinner) – please advise us of your dietary requirements.
  • Snowshoes for hiking (if needed)
  • Fully qualified and experienced Wim Hof Method Instructor(s), support personnel, chef, musician, local guides (K7)
  • National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) guide fees and charges, including usage of the NP. We hold a certified Eco Pass.

Not Included:

  • National Parks Entry Fee $17 per vehicle per day (24hrs).  There is a medium chance of snow at this time.  We recommend 4WD into the National Park.  AWD can park in Jindabyne and carpool to Thredbo. Please organise this through your WhatsApp group closer to the event.
  • Transfers are not included to/from Snowy Mountains (Cooma) Airport with REX Airlines, (nor Sydney/Canberra) but carpooling has always been readily available via other participants through your Expedition WhatsApp group link :)


MEAL INFORMATION:

All meals for this retreat are provided by ‘The Zilky Way’ and are far from instant gratification, rather one of healing, conscious practice and nourishment. Food is slow, soulful and prepared in reference to Ayurveda, TCM, European influence and bush medicine. Offerings are embedded with gratitude to all stages of the food cycle, seed to harvest, preparation to salivation and taste to digestion.

Fresh produce is seasonal, local, organic or biodynamic and water is collected from pure mountain sources. Staples are gathered, in jars, from co-ops, whole-food, organic distributors and bush food are foraged with local permission. All food is ethical, chemical free and life promoting. 'The Zilky way' intends to operate on this earth with the kindest impact and future steading spirit, honouring the ancestors before, and inspiring sustainability for all relations that come.

ACCOMMODATION INFORMATION:

Enjoy the ample amenities, cosy lounge, open fireplace facilities of this beautiful lodge. This Thredbo lodge has a total of 19 beds across 7 bedrooms including a triple room and a bunk room accommodating 5 guests.

Important information regarding Mt Kosciuszko summit hike

We are at the mercy of Mother Nature and are not able to guarantee the weather conditions will be favourable to summit Mt Kosciuszko

Safety is on our list of priorities, and the summit trek will only go ahead if weather conditions are in our favour, and you are prepared for the journey. Otherwise, we’ll attempt an alternative hike.

Leah & her team will assess you in the lead up whether you are prepared to hike the summit - you must be mentally & physically ready in order to proceed

Health information:

This event is suitable for those aged 16 years and over

Out of precaution, we advise against participation during pregnancy, or if you are epileptic. People with cardiovascular issues, or any other serious health conditions (e.g. COPD) should always get in touch with the facilitator and consult a medical professional. If you have specific questions relating to your condition, please contact your facilitator beforehand.
