Warwick Hendon Return - optional sausage sizzle on Warwick Railway Station

1330Plan to arrive at Warwick Railway Station Brosnan Crescent Warwick QLD. Free parking is available. Show your printed ticket upon arrival. You will be allocated a railway carriage and seat. Toilets are available on the platform.

1400 Train departs from Warwick Railway Station

1500 Train arrives at Hendon, locomotive is shunted around the consist. You do not disembark at Hendon.

1520Train departs Hendon for Warwick.

1600Train arrives back at the Warwick Railway Station.


Sausage sizzle is available on the Warwick Railway Station Platform after your journey. The cost is included in your ticket price.

NOTE: Snacks, coffee, tea and alcohol are available onboard. Toilets are available on the train.

Please stay in your allocated seat (whilst not moving around) during your entire journey.

Cross wooden bridges, numerous road crossings, rock cuttings, see crops, native bushland, dams, villages... experience it all.

When you return your ticket includes a sausage sizzle on the platform. This includes a cup of coffee, hot chocolate , or a bottle of water. There is also a kiosk operational on the train which sells other drinks and snacks.

Depart Warwick Station at 10:00am for a leisurely heritage train trip to Hendon and return to Warwick by 12:20pm.

Please note…

Please plan to arrive at the Warwick Railway Station, Brosnan Cres, Warwick at least 30 minutes before departure.

Please also bring along a copy of your email issued ticket, either printed or on your phone, for all family members.

• We make every endeavour to ensure that tour will operate as advertised. Unfortunately, this may not always be possible owing to unforeseen circumstances such as total fire bans or mechanical failures. In such events we reserve the right to make whatever changes are necessary, without compensation. However, any changes made will only be after we have exhausted all reasonable efforts to provide the tour as advertised.

  • Where steam is unavailable, SDSR will replace it with the Heritage Diesel Locomotive.
  • Some services may cancel at short notice. You will be notified by email.

• If you would like to sit in a carriage with friends that have booked tickets separately from you, email bookings@downsexplorer.org.au to let us know the name the tickets were booked in, trip details and order number. If you do not let us know, you may be seated in separate carriages.

• Please bring a copy of your email issued ticket for all family members, either printed or on your phone.

• Times shown on brochures are subject to approval of the relevant authorities and could differ on the day. Correct times will be advised on your tickets or by special email.
