This 3 day tour has a real outback theme… heritage train, meals on historic railway stations, visits to historical sites, explore Goondiwindi environs, outback towns, all bus transfers, meals and accommodation covered just turn up and be adventurous…

Your schedule will include:

Day 1

0730 Please arrive at the Warwick Railway Station, Brosnan Crescent Warwick QLD. Free parking is available. Show your printed ticket upon arrival. You will be allocated a railway carriage and seat. Toilets are available on the platform. Please ensure all your luggage is labelled with your name and mobile phone number.

0800 Depart Warwick Railway Station.

1115 Arrive at Inglewood Railway Station. A local volunteer group will provide lunch with coffee and tea (included in your ticket).

1245 Depart Inglewood Railway Station.

1500 Arrive Goondiwindi Railway Station.

1530 Bus transport to motel.

1730 Bus from motel to Dinner

1800 Dinner (dinner included in the ticket price).

2000 Bus back to motel

Day 2

0615 Bus pickup from your motel and will take you to

0630 Breakfast at a downtown (breakfast included in the ticket price) restaurant/cafe.

0730 Bus will then take you directly to the railway station (optional Thallon /Toobeah train tour)or back to your motel

0830 - For those not going to Thallon/Toobeah morning tour

Option 1 - Short tour of town on bus or on your own

Option 2 - Shuttle to show

Option 3 - Return to Motel

1100 Lunch - 1st sitting

1230 Lunch - 2nd sitting

1330 following lunch

NOTE those going back to the motel will have the day to explore the town and Goondiwindi show at your leisure. The tour bus will get you around...

1700 Bus returns you to your motel along with Toobeah and Thallon passengers

1750 Bus pickup to go to Dinner

1800 Dinner (Dinner included in the ticket price)

1930 Bus back to your Motel

Day 3

0630 Bus pickup from your motel. Ensure you have all your luggage with you. The bus will take you to 7.00 am breakfast at a café downtown (breakfast included in the ticket price). Bus will then take you and your luggage directly to the railway station.

0800 Train will depart Goondiwindi for Warwick.

1100 Arrive at Inglewood Railway Station. A local volunteer group will provide a lunch with coffee and tea. (included in your ticket).

1700 Arrive back at Warwick Railway Station.

NOTE: Snacks, coffee, tea and alcohol are available onboard. Toilets are available on the train.

Please stay in your allocated seat (whilst not moving around) during your entire journey.

THINGS TO DO AND SEE IN GOONDIWINDI: The Goondiwindi Show is on this weekend, Botanic Gardens, Customs House Museum, Gunsynd the Goondiwindi Grey, Natural Heritage & Water Park, Euraba Paper Company and the main downtown area.

Please note…

Please plan to arrive at the Warwick Railway Station, Brosnan Cres, Warwick at least 45 minutes before departure.

Please also bring along a copy of your email issued ticket, either printed or on your phone, for all family members.

If you would like to sit in a carriage with friends that have booked tickets separately from you, please email bookings@downsexplorer.org.au to advise the name the tickets were booked in and the number of tickets booked ASAP. If you do not call and let us know, you may be seated in separate carriages.

We make every endeavour to ensure that tours operate as advertised. Unfortunately, this may not always be possible owing to unforeseen circumstances such as total fire bans or mechanical failures. In such events we reserve the right to make whatever changes are necessary, without compensation. However, any changes made will only be after we have exhausted all reasonable efforts to provide the tour as advertised.

Where steam is unavailable, we will replace it with the Heritage Diesel Locomotive.

Times shown on brochures are subject to approval of the relevant authorities and could differ on the day. Correct times will be advised on your tickets or by special email.

Some services may cancel at short notice. You will be notified by email and an automated refund will be arranged..
