PRESENTERS:

Professor Vicki Hutton joined the ACAP Melbourne campus in 2013. In 2022, Vicki was promoted to the Discipline Chair of Counselling and also is the Course Coordinator of the Graduate Diploma of Counselling.

After working in the health and community sectors as a counsellor, crisis counsellor and group facilitator, Vicki moved into teaching and research at Monash University while completing her PhD in Applied Psychology.

She has worked on research projects in the areas of mental health, quality of life, HIV and AIDS, stigma and discrimination, social cohesion, racism and cyber-racism.

Vicki remains a long-term counsellor at Southway Counselling Centre, a service established more than 20 years ago to provide affordable counselling to the community.

Karen Noe, ACA Student Engagement Officer
With six years of dedicated service to ACA, Karen has been a driving force within the Australian Counselling Association (ACA) Member Services Team, showcasing unparalleled commitment and expertise. In February 2024, Karen naturally progressed into the role of Student Engagement Officer at the ACA.

Karen's proficiency spans every aspect of the student member experience – from course accreditation to membership queries, supervision, and ongoing professional development. Beyond the academic realm, she has been instrumental in offering career guidance, ensuring a seamless transition into the counselling profession.

Karen has a passion for the counselling profession - she sees her role not just as a job but as a vocation to empower and uplift aspiring counsellors.
