Event description

Description

Musical evocations of Spain have coloured the landscape of Western music for over 200 years, finding new modes of expression with the rise of musical exoticism. This symposium and concert celebrate the dynamic and multi-faceted art that has arisen from Spain’s unique contribution to musical exoticism.

Convened by Michael Christoforidis and Liz Kertesz, this symposium will feature local and international speakers, including staff and graduate researchers from the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music.

If you will be attending the symposium in full, we kindly ask that you register for both dates.
