TOUR INFORMATION

On arrival at RSPCA Wacol Animal Care Campus, your tour guide will collect you from the front desk in the main adoptions centre building. You will receive an overview and history of RSPCA, followed by the tour to see everything you need to know about how we care for rescued animals.

This is an informative and relaxed tour that will take approximately 1 hour to complete. Your guide will be happy to answer any questions you may have as you move around the campus. Families are welcome but we ask for a minimum age to attend of 7 years.

The tour will cover the adoption areas, the wildlife and domestic animal hospitals, farmyard and other 'behind the scenes' areas of our campus.

The cost of the tour is $6.19 ($5 donation and a $1.19 administration fee to process the booking). Your $5 donation will go directly to the welfare and care of our animals.

While on campus you may want to stop by at our Black Cat Café, shop at World for Pets or find a bargain at our Op Shop, all proceeds go towards the support and care of the animals at RSPCA Queensland.

Information on our full group tours throughout the week is available on our website or can be obtained by contacting the Education Team at education@rspcaqld.org.au.

To register for the Sunday Campus Tours, simply select your preferred date and time and follow the steps through to payment. We look forward to seeing you!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is the cost per person? The cost of the tour is $6.19 per participant ($5 donation and $1.19 administration fee); the donation will go directly to assisting animals in our care.

Can any age attend? Tours can be run for a minimum age of 7 years.

How many people are on each tour? The maximum number per group is 10. This allows each member to hear the guide and to move easily through some of the smaller areas within the tour.

What do we see on the tour? The tour covers the adoption areas, the wildlife and domestic animal hospitals, farmyard and other ‘behind the scenes’ areas of our campus.

Will we get to pat puppies and cuddle kittens? As Wacol is a working shelter, we cannot guarantee access to all areas or which animals we may interact with. We are not a petting zoo and always keep the welfare of our animal guests at the forefront of any interactions.

Is there much walking? The tour covers a distance of somewhere near 400 metres, so each member will need to decide if this is within their physical capabilities.

Is the campus wheelchair and walker friendly? We have wheelchair amenities and access to all areas is available to those who may have walkers or a wheelchair.

How long is the tour? Each tour runs for approximately 60 minutes

Is it always inside a building? The tour has a small amount of time in the sun, between buildings and while at the farmyard, so wearing a hat or sunscreen is recommended.

Anything else I should wear or bring? Closed in shoes are a must while within the campus.
