Celebrate Refugee Week with us at Randwick City Library! Join artist and author Nawras Jabbar for a special Storytown session featuring her debut picture book, Nawras’ 11 Year Journey. Discover her inspiring story as a Mandean refugee from Iraq, and enjoy stories, rhymes, and a craft activity.

Every child who visits Storytown will be given a special passport which will be stamped at each visit. Collect six stamps to get a book prize!

Please leave your prams at home as space is limited.

  • Bookings are essential. Only children (and their siblings) attending the activity need to be booked in. We are unable to accommodate children without a valid ticket.
  • All children must have parental supervision.
  • You must be a Library member to attend. Library membership is free and you can sign up online or at any branch.
  • If you are unable to attend please cancel your tickets as soon as possible. This will enable others to participate in the event.
  • Please arrive 10 minutes early to allow the event to run on time.
  • Due to the safety and enjoyment of participants, we are unable to admit latecomers to the room after the start time.
  • Your ticket can be cancelled by the organiser at any time without further notice.
  • Your attendance at events supported by Randwick City Council may be digitally recorded through audio and/or video recordings. These recordings may be used later on council's websites, social media, or other external websites. By joining a session, you automatically consent to such recordings. If you do not consent to the recording, please contact us to discuss your concerns in good time prior to the event date.
