Are you interested in developing skills in Key Word Signing?
Key Word Sign can be used to support people understand speech and also to communicate their message. Key Word Sign is a suitable Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) strategy for people with a range of communication needs.
You will walk away from this workshop confident in using a range of signs to support communication.
Attendees will learn;
- To identify what is key word sign and gesture
- How signing supports communication
- Who signing is used with
- How to use signs in everyday activities
- How to choose vocabulary tailored to an individual
- A basic vocabulary of interactive signs
Target audience: This workshop will be of interest to Parents, Carers, Teachers, Education Assistants, Support Workers and Therapists.
Presenter: Amy Litton. Amy is a Speech Pathologist for the Independent Living Centre WA and also a qualified Key Word Sign trainer.
Morning Tea and Lunch will be provided.
