Event description

Description

Are you a photographer looking for a workflow solution? You’ve heard about the amazing power of Lightroom to support you to manage your images from capture to output, but you have no idea how to get your head around the program? Or perhaps you are already using Lightroom but aware that you are fumbling around and not optimising the software for your workflow as well as you could?

Lightroom is an industry-standard tool for working photographers and enthusiasts alike. We will be running a one-day intensive Lightroom Classic workshop to support you to learn how to use the program, with emphasis placed on catalog and file management, importing and developing images, and exporting at various sizes and formats. We will also have an overview on what you can expect from the Map, Book, Slideshow, Print and Web Modules. We will work with a small group (maximum 8 students) to ensure you get quality learning and plenty of support. You will work with an existing catalog to have hands-on practical experience working with images in a catalog, and build your confidence so that you can then go home and implement some critical workflow processes and ensure that your images are safe and sound. Notes will also be supplied.

This workshop will cover:

  • Importing images & best-practice file and folder management
  • Keywording
  • Using collections
  • Using shortcuts and working efficiently
  • The Develop Module - detailed exploration of tools, tricks and tips for optimising your images
  • Exporting Images
  • Overall workfow
  • Backing up your images

What You Will Need

  1. A decent laptop with a current version of Lightroom Classic – you can download a trial version to use for the month or buy a subscription for $14.29 per month
  2. A portable hard drive might be handy but is not essential
  3. A notebook & pen
