Overview

This session is for health workers wishing to acquire or update knowledge about HIV. Information will be at an introductory level.

Introduction to HIV will provide attendees with an overview of the history, epidemiology, transmission, prevention, testing and management of HIV.

The session is aimed at people requiring introductory level information about HIV or those who may have recently commenced work in the blood borne virus and STI sector. This session has been expanded to four hours length after taking feedback from past attendees, with a light morning tea provided.

The session will be presented by nurses with many years' experience working in the field of HIV treatment and prevention. A speaker from the Positive Speakers Bureau will share information from the perspective of a person living with HIV.

For further details or to be added to our email list, contact the Education and Resource Centre - ERC@alfred.org.au
