HSRAANZ Symposium and AGM. HSR- Where to from Here?
HSR - Where to from here? A review of the state and potential of HSR in Australia and New Zealand
The HSRAANZ is the peak body for HSR in Australia and New Zealand and has a major role in assisting health services researchers and policy makers to meet the challenges facing the health system in the 21st Century.
The Association will be holding the above event on 1 December 2016 at the National Press Club, Canberra. At the event we will launch the preliminary findings of a commissioned report on the state and potential of HSR in Australia and New Zealand. This will be accompanied by short presentations by leading health services researchers describing the impact of their HSR on the Australian and New Zealand healthcare system and population health. Our President Jon Karnon will talk on Innovation and Implementation and Health Services Research and Mark Booth, First Assistant Secretary, Health Systems Policy and Erica Kneipp, Assistant Secretary, Health and Medical Research at the Department of Health will provid a response.
Following the report launch and presentations, we will be holding break-out sessions to discuss the potential role and approaches to HSR in Australia and New Zealand in different sectors of the healthcare system (e.g. public hospitals, primary care, aged care, public health).
The event will incorporate the Association's Annual General Meeting and presentation of the HSRAANZ 2016 Awards for the Best Impact Project, Best Paper and Best PhD Student. Networking Drinks will be held at the end of the day.
Anyone interested in the role of health services research in improving healthcare and population health should attend. We are particularly keen for staff from the Department of Health and Ageing, state health departments andt the NHMRC to attend.
The event is free but registration is required and places are limited.
