Principal Cellist of the Sydney Symphony, Umberto Clerici, joins esteemed pianist Daniel de Borah for a special concert in Coffs Harbour.

Umberto made his debut as a soloist with SSO in 2017 with Strauss’ Don Quixote and in 2018 the Brahms double concerto. He has recorded several CDs with concertos, solo and chamber music and, in 2017, he realized two new solo recordings for ABC Classic.

Daniel de Borah is firmly established as one of Australia’s foremost musicians, consistently praised for the grace, finesse and imaginative intelligence of his performances. Festival appearances have included the Adelaide Festival, Musica Viva Festival, Huntington Estate Music Festival and the Australian Festival of Chamber Music. Daniel is a founding member of Ensemble Q.

“Clerici’s playing is soulful, robust, and beautifully sculpted.” ANDREW ARONOWICZ, LIMELIGHT MAGAZINE (31 AUGUST 2017)

Organiser Coffs Harbour Music Society

Organiser of 2021 Concert: Umberto Clerici & Daniel De Borah

Since the early 1990’s the Coffs Harbour Music Society has presented a series of subscriber concerts featuring some of Australia’s and the world’s finest classical musicians drawn largely from the renowned Musica Viva program. Our subscriber base has, over that time, grown from approximately 90 to over 280. Our concert programme extends to six concerts a year divided into two separate series, one in the first half of the year, the other in the second half. Such is the demand for our concerts that they are held at the Coffs Harbour Education Campus in a superbly intimate but raked theatre seating approximately 350.
