Devashakti presents the second gathering of the Women's Kirtan Collective!
Sat June 15th from 1-4pm (after lunch - lunch not provided) at the Raleigh Hall.
Come and join us for a peaceful, blissful afternoon of singing, chanting, harmonising and connecting as we sing together some beautiful devotional songs.
All women, children and babies are welcome, if you've sung kirtan before thats great! If not, thats fine too! This gathering offers a safe and welcoming space for women to explore sacred singing together, led by local women who are passionate about kirtan and yoga.
Kirtan is a devotional singing practice of yoga, usually shared in a call and response manner, which makes it easy to catch onto and explore. Most of the songs are shared in sanskrit mantras, but all of the melodies are catchy and the repeditive lyrics displayed so even if you're not familiar with the ancient language, you'll be able to follow along and feel the heart opening, blissfully calming effects.
There will be opportunity to play along, espcially with hand percussion, so if you have a shaker or a little drum, please bring it along.
After the success of the first gathering, our kirtan group Devashakti will share the lead with some other local women who love kirtan, if you'd like to share a mantra in the future, please come and chat to us at the gathering and we can make some plans.
We cant wait to be in the midst of this beautiful collective experience on the Coffs Coast with you.
Bring some water and a cushion and some change for chai. There will be a little kids space set up - kids and babies are welcome and of course no tickets are required for them.
