Transition Town Maribyrnong & Inner West Community Enterprises, Inc.

Transition Town Maribyrnong is a local initiative that aims to build a resilient and connected community that thinks globally and acts locally. Our interests include backyard and community gardening, sharing practical skills, reducing waste, encouraging public and active transport, promoting a more localised economy, and celebrating existing and new friendships! In permaculture terms, we value caring for people, the earth and fairly sharing our abundance. Inner West Community Enterprises is passionate about developing strong and resilient communities in Melbourne’s inner west. Created in 2008 and owned by some 270 local residents, IWCE is a social enterprise that supports local schools, sporting clubs and community groups in the municipality of Maribyrnong and surrounds. IWCE owns the Seddon Community Bank branch of the Bendigo Bank, with profits made by the branch invested back into the community.
