UniSC's Thompson Institute
UniSC’s Thompson Institute is a world-class hub for mental health research addressing Australia’s most pressing mental health issues. It is the only facility in Australia to integrate and co-locate research with education and clinical services – a unique model that enables the fast translation of research evidence into practice.
People who attend our events can expect to receive the latest evidence-based information about mental health that they can put into practice today and keep an eye on for the future.
Our mental health research is underpinned by the latest in advanced neuroimaging, which uncovers valuable new insights into how our mental health is linked to our neurobiology – the structure and function of our brains.
Our research, clinical services and education address Australia’s most pressing mental health issues: youth mental health; suicide prevention; post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD); brain ageing and dementia; and eating disorders.
