Sioux Tempestt
Sioux Tempestt produces paintings, murals, public art and digital works. Her training as a graphic designer is evidenced in the broad scope of her work. Tempestt has been involved in numerous group shows and held seven solo exhibitions.
Among other achievements Tempestt was a Finalist, City of Busselton Art Award, 2020, 2019; Finalist, City of Stirling Art Award, 2019; Finalist, Perth Royal Art Prize, 2019; Finalist, City of Rockingham Castaways Sculpture Awards, 2019; Finalist, Minnawarra Art Awards, 2019, 2018; Finalist, Town of Claremont Art Awards, 2019; Highly Commended, City of South Perth Emerging Artist Award 2018; Highly Commended, Town of Bassendean Visual Art Award 2018; Finalist, City of Joondalup 2018 Community Invitation Art Award.
Tempestt has produced many mural, community and ephemeral public artworks over the years, working with local governments and town teams. Most recently she was invited to produce a large scale ground mural as part of the high profile Collie Mural Trail. Tempestt enjoys the community engagement aspect of running creative workshops, particularly with youth. Tempestt has delivered artistic projects for clients including the City of Perth, the City of Stirling, the City of Melville, the City of South Perth, the City of Vincent and Belmont Forum.
A passionate advocate for high quality public art, Tempestt is a member of the City of Vincent Arts Advisory Group and the City of Melville Public Art Panel. She is also a founding partner of public art consultancy firm CURATE publik.
Her work is held in the City of South Perth and Ronald McDonald House public collections.
In 2021 Tempestt will deliver ‘Innominate’ an immersive art experience funded by the City of Stirling.
