Shady and the Lamp

Shady and the Lamp is an artisanal lighting brand renowned for creating bold and beautifully crafted lampshades.

Established in 2012, Sarah O’Dea and her skilled team make eclectic shades with an off-beat edge by combining trend driven fabrics and directional design. Following a background in Interior Styling, Sarah trained under two Master Lampshade Makers, expanding her knowledge and expertise into this field of interiors and with a focus on distinctive lighting Shady and the Lamp was born.

Now, Sarah is bringing her love of lampshade making to the classroom...

During the workshops you will learn a variety of comprehensive techniques including; handling PVC, applying fabric, attaching ring-sets, understanding glues/ tapes/ tools, creating neatly rolled edges and seamless finishes. Sarah will provide step-by-step instructions and by the end of the workshop, you will leave with your very own bespoke lampshade and the skillset to create many more beautiful shades.
