"Hello, my name is Darren Kay and I am your YB12 coach living in Perth's northern suburbs. I live with my wife Fleur and my two children Madison and Jack. Raising a young family I could not imagine living anywhere other than this beautiful state of Western Australia. In my spare timeyou will find me on a golf course or passionately supporting one of my many sports teams.
My professional career has been mostly spent in the finance industry and i have gained many experiences over 16 years. From getting a foot in the door as a junior, to helping establish astart up company that is now winning awards within the industry, my roles have ranged from the bottom of the ladder as a Teller within a bank to the top of the ladder as a Sales manager and business owner. All of my roles have helped me develop on an individual level and have provided me with some great knowledge, but it has been away from work in my personal life where I have learnt the most valuable lessons.
In September of 2013, my wife Fleur was diagnosed with a Glioblastoma (Brain Tumor). As two young parents looking like rabbits in the headlights of a car, we where told by Doctors that there was nothing we could do other than chemo/radiation treatment and to prepare for the worst. We had to find other options and this lead us to Sydney and brain surgery to remove thetumor with Dr Charlie Teo. Following surgery Fleur was left with some paralysis on the right side of her body and the battle with this cancer began.
From the very day that the doctor informed us of this cancer I now see the world differently. The life skills and lessons, both professionally and personally, are much easier to interpret & execute.
"Strive not to be a success but rather to be of value" - Albert Einstein
YB12 has not only helped me deal with the pitfalls and challenges in life but it has made me a better parent, a better husband and more productive in life than ever. This quote from Albert Einstein has been the driving force behind my mission to add value to as many people as possible by introducing them to the YB12 program.
