A Big Life

‘A Big Life’ is a partnership between the Warrnambool Student Wellbeing Association, Brauer College, Warrnambool College, Koroit & District Primary School, Woodford Primary School, Grasmere Primary School, Warrnambool West Primary School, Merrivale Primary School and Woolsthorpe Primary School.

Over the years, princpals, teachers, chaplains and families have identified some consistent themes central to the challenges faced by young people in the region. These have been framed as 5 big questions and are at the heart of A Big Life. These questions are:

1. How do I relate to people who are different to me? (Living with difference)

2. How can I love and be loved? (Relationships, self-identity & sexuality)

3. What is the meaning of life? (awe, wonder & purpose)

4. How do I make family work – even if I haven’t got one or don’t want mine? (Family in the 21st century)

5. What do I do when bad things happen? (Grief and loss)

A Big Life works with students, school staff and families to develop routines and consistencies that enhance connection, calmness, clarity, kindness and gratitude across our schools. Using a strengths-based approach, we aim to build resilience, promote positive behaviour and better prepare young people in our community to deal with the ups and downs of life.
