Overview

Is your veggie patch growing a glut? Preserving hero Beck can show you ways to keep all that summer produce from going to waste.

Beck Stevens is a health and food educator, horticulturalist, and Agricultural Scientist with a passion for building strong, resilient, and sustainable communities. She is an expert in reducing food waste and transforming the glut of home-grown seasonal produce into delicious and safe preserves. With extensive experience across a wide range of food preservation techniques, Beck regularly runs community food workshops, where she shares her knowledge, passion and practical skills with others. She is a founding member and co-ordinator of ‘Happy Patch Community Garden’ and ‘The Happy Pantry Community Food Co-operative’, both located in Aberfoyle Park.

At our March market event, Beck will cover topics such as:

  • Reducing food waste
  • Safe preserving methods
  • Fermentation basics
  • Preserving demonstration
  • Delicious samples to try and recipes to take home.

Supported by the City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters.

Note that in the event that the market is cancelled attendees will be offered a refund (minus the ticketing fees).
