This course runs over two day sessions: Monday 16 and Tuesday 17 December. All sessions run from 9:00am - 4:30pm. You MUST attend both days to complete your certificate.


You must be over the age of 18 to attend this course.

Please note a minimum of 10 participants are required to run this training.

Course Overview:

About 1 in 4 young Australians experience a common mental illness each year.

You will:

-Gain an understanding of the latest research in the mental health field

-Learn the 3 key actions for helping someone feeling suicidal

-Work through complex mental health first aid interactions

-Practice mental health first aid skills.


This course is a 14-hour Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA) course.


Course topics cover:

-Developing mental health problems

-Depression and anxiety problems

-Psychosis

-Eating disorders

-Substance use problems

-Suicide and other mental health crises.

-Participants receive a copy of the Youth MHFA manual

-Participants are eligible to become an accredited Mental Health First Aider.
