Join us for a relaxed, youth-led sewing circle where anyone can sit, stitch, mend or upcycle together — no experience needed.

This drop‑in session is designed to help you repair your favourite pieces, learn simple sewing skills, or experiment with upcycling, all with guidance from young fashion creatives.


What to Expect

  • A welcoming, non‑judgmental space
  • Youth mentors who can help with basic sewing, mending and creative repair
  • Time to work on your own clothing repair or upcycling project
  • A focus on creativity, confidence and community
  • Some materials provided (thread, needles, scrap fabric), or bring your own


Who Can Join

This session is open to young people (12–24 years). Beginners are absolutely welcome! Curiosity is all you need.

This Youth Week activity is delivered by Slogue, and the City of Ryde Circular Economy team and guided by young fashion creatives who can help with simple repairs and creative ideas.

About the Facilitator

Slogue delivers creative, youth-led circular fashion programs — from public sewing circles to upcycling workshops, school incursions and festival activations. They make slow fashion exciting and accessible by teaching hands-on skills using rescued textiles and playful, non-corrective methods. Their programs build confidence, reduce textile waste and spark meaningful climate action through creativity.
