Woodend Neighbourhood HouseWoodend, VIC
Saturday, Mar 28 from 10 am to 1:30 pm AEDT
Overview

Join the Macedon Ranges Youth Climate Group for a hands-on cultural and creative experience.

Join the Macedon Ranges Youth Climate Group for a hands-on cultural art session with First Nations artist Maddy Connors (Yorta Yorta, Dja Dja Wurrung and Gamilaroi woman, mother, and founder and Creative Director of Yarli Creative). Through painting, Maddy will share cultural stories, knowledge and creative techniques grounded in connection to Country.

Participants will learn about the significance of patterns, symbols, and colours while applying these techniques to habitat nesting boxes designed to support local wildlife. Guided step by step, each participant will paint their own unique nest box and gain insight into how art, culture, and environmental stewardship are deeply connected.

At the end of the workshop, participants are invited to take their completed nest box home to install in their backyard, helping to create safe nesting spaces while continuing the practice of caring for the land.

This event is supported by VicHealth.
