You're kidding me- Raising ready kids: School skills that begin early

Windale Hub, bilyabayiWindale, NSW
Friday, Feb 27 from 9:30 am to 11 am AEDT
Overview

Join us as we explore how you can build your child's confidence, independence and everyday self-help skills.

Come join Dave from MoveAbout Therapy for a practical and engaging parent session on building school readiness from the earliest years of childhood.

When we think of getting children ready for school, it’s easy to picture sitting still at a desk, holding a pencil, or reciting ABCs. But Dave will offer a fresh perspective on what children really need to thrive as they take their next step into school life.

This session will explore the foundations of emotional readiness, confidence, independence, and everyday self help skills — the things that help children feel secure, capable and connected.

Importantly, Dave will highlight that school readiness isn’t something achieved in the final year before Kindergarten. It’s a journey built gradually throughout childhood, through play, relationships, and meaningful daily experiences.

Come along to learn practical strategies you can use at home to support your child’s development now and into their school years.

Children are invited to attend sessions with their parent/carer. We will have activities set up near the presentation and council staff will be available to support children’s engagement with activities while parents tune into the presentation.
