Your digital super powers. Using the 4Rs to create positive online communities
This Safer Internet Day presentation encourages students to recognise the personal and social capabilities that are important for creating positive online environments. Students will explore skills including communicating with respect; developing resilience; using reasoning; and choosing to act responsibly.
The presentation is designed to empower students to draw on these key strengths to help combat serious online issues such as cyberbullying and misinformation. At the end of the session, students will make a pledge to use their personal strengths to create a better internet not only today, but every day.
This presentation will address Victorian Curriculum Health and Physical Education outcomes including:
- Explore how identities are influenced by people and places (VCHPEP105)
- Practise skills to establish and manage relationships (VCHPEP109)
- Recognise how media and important people in the community influence personal attitudes, beliefs, decisions and behaviours (VCHPEP111)
And address elements of the Personal and Social General Capability including:
- Recognising personal qualities and achievements
- Understanding relationships
- Expressing emotions appropriately
Please allow 1hr (including setup, 40min presentation and wrap-up) for the presentation.
Virtual Classroom Details
- The session will be run via Adobe Connect- a link will be emailed the day before the event.
- Please register once per classroom - on the day the teacher will login and share the screen with the class.
- Each session will be capped at 100 registrations.
