ABOUT THE TEACHER

Lorina Dufty

Growing up in a creative teaching family Lorina has had a lifetime of experiences in the Visual and Performing Arts. After achieving 13th placement in the state in Art for her HSC Lorina went on to study Art and Art Education at tertiary level. Having gained a four-year Diploma of Art (Education) from Newcastle College of Advanced Education, and after completing an additional Honours year, Lorina pursued a career teaching Visual Arts in high schools with the NSW Department of Education.

As an art educator, teaching for more than 20 years in many regional high schools and educational institutions throughout NSW and Victoria, Lorina gained numerous awards for her creative pursuits and received high commendation for her commitment to art education. She also continued to broaden her educational experience and knowledge by further completing a Diploma in Ceramics (Studio), a Diploma in Design Methods and Principles, and more recently a Diploma in Yogic Studies.

Although now officially retired from her school teaching career Lorina remains committed to the visual arts through her ongoing engagement as a participant or presenter at various visual arts events in the north coast region, as well as through her home studio practices.
