Event description

Description

McCabes’ Directors’ Duties seminar is the first of a three-part seminar series focused on the duties and obligations of directors as well as strategies that young entrepreneurs can adopt to limit their personal exposure.

Drinks and registration begin at 5.30pm.

The Seminar will run from 6.00pm-7.00pm.

The world is changing – and with it, so is the face of the traditional ‘business executive’.

Given the explosion of online technology platforms in recent years, the entrepreneurs of today are very different to the business leaders of the past.

Today, entrepreneurs are leveraging from technological advances. They are taking advantage of the growing ‘start-up’ market to innovate and disrupt traditional businesses and business models, often while facing significant regulatory hurdles along the way.

With the number of start-ups increasing, an increasing number of young entrepreneurs are stepping into the role of the company director. This has created an influx of queries that we are fielding from young entrepreneurs regarding the significant duties and obligations that attach to their new roles.

To provide valuable and accessible advice to our community of young entrepreneurs, we are launching a new Seminar Series focusing on the duties and obligations of entrepreneurs as they step up to take on a management role in their companies.

Whether you are new to directorship or have been on the board of a well-established corporation for several years, directors’ duties apply equally, and it is essential to equip yourself with a working knowledge of what is required of you.
