About this event

Going Rural Health, together with the University of Melbourne Rural Clinical School, are sponsoring FREE yoga classes for four weeks in September/October, to coincide with RUOK Day and Mental Health Week.

Classes will be led by Christina Gagnier, a yoga teacher with more than 3000 hours teaching experience. They will be run face to face in Ballarat at the University of Melbourne campus, and streamed via Zoom so all our rural health students can participate. DRH staff are also welcome to attend.

Registration essential. Zoom details will be provided after registration, for those wishing to join remotely. BYO yoga mat.

For more details contact Trish Thorpe at trish.thorpe@unimelb.edu.au

The Department of Rural Health commenced on the 1st February 1999 and is in the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences at the University of Melbourne.

The Department of Rural Health provides professional health education and research training in a rural context. Based at Shepparton in the Goulburn Valley, we have major nodes at Ballarat and Wangaratta and associations with nearly 40 smaller towns in rural Victoria.

We offer an exciting range of multidisciplinary opportunities for undergraduate, postgraduate students and practicing health professionals.  Our success depends on support from our local community, especially the health care sector.

Partnerships with many agencies in the Shepparton, Ballarat and Wangaratta regions underpin our teaching and research.\
