Yoga and Meditation by the Georges River

Lake GillawarnaCanterbury-Bankstown Council, NSW
Sunday, May 24 from 9:30 am to 10:45 am AEST
Overview

Join host Stanja for a restorative yoga and meditation workshop to connect us with and help appreciate the nearby Georges River.

Come along to a restorative outdoor yoga workshop with host Stanja of Yoga with Stanja, held on the grassy banks of Georges River next to one of our hidden gems, Lake Gillawarna.

Participants will learn techniques for restorative yoga and meditation along with an introduction connecting us to the nearby Georges River and adjoining Prospect Creek. There will also be opportunities to learn about the challenges and progress made to improve the river over recent years. Following the yoga and meditation, there will be a short walk around the nearby lake, keeping an eye out for native fauna including birds and turtles.

Please note - attendees must bring their own mats, towels and any other supporting items such as blocks and drinking water.

About the instructor: Stanja Buvac is a Marrickville-based yoga and breathwork teacher specialising in mindful movement and nervous system support. Her classes focus on awareness, connection, and everyday resilience. Learn more at https://stanja.yoga/

The activity is not suitable for children under 12 years. Children under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian present for the duration of the event.

NOTE: If there is rain the day before or of the event, the location will be changed to Georges Hall Community Centre, located at 188 Birdwood Road, Georges Hall NSW 2198
