She is currently studying a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Art Theory) at UNSW. They are a current participant in the National Gallery of Australia’s Digital Writers Residency. Their text-based, photographic and curatorial practice is actively shaped by the expansive methodologies of decolonial, queer and crip studies. She drawsfrom a desire to enact practices of community care and explore the power of queer platonic desire.Mei Lin Meyers is a UNSW Bachelor of Fine Arts student who is living and working on stolen Gadigal and Bidjigal Land. Working across sculpture, and writing, their work engages with fuzzy-edged family lineages, and the tenderness in non-linear kinship. As a form of queer storytelling and imagining, their practice attends to the often unexpected and joyful connections between things; the flake-like dance of kite-shaped aliens and the knuckles on a hand of ginger.ABOUT THE VENUE:ST PETERS LIBRARY is single level and is accessible for people using wheelchairs and other mobility aids.If you have any access or support requirements in order to participate fully, please let us know in the booking order form to ensure that we can arrange any reasonable adjustments. We may take photographs of the speakers and the audience at this event.
