Poaching Prehistory: combating the illegal trade of Mongolian dinosaurs
We all know poaching wildlife is a common threat. But what about poaching dinosaurs?
Associate Professor Phil Bell, from the University of New England, is here to anwser all your burning questions including what’s happening, and why is it important?
With two decades of experience as a dinosaur expert, Phil pioneered the application of geochemistry to determine the origins of illegally excavated fossils in Mongolia.
He's led expeditions in search of dinosaurs in Australia, Canada and Mongolia and will likely share information about his NEXT expedition, too.
I met Phil while researching my NEXT middle-grade book, Curious Kai Quits School. He and his lab in Armidale, NSW, will be featured in the narrative, helping Kai determine what she discovered on the Lightning Ridge opal fields.
He is a charismatic speaker and extremely passionate palaeontologist, and I can't wait to hear his presentation! 🦖
