Workshops for school groups at SA Water

SA WaterAdelaide, SA
Multiple dates
Overview

Explore the world of water with a fun challenge for your students

These workshops are fun and engaging excursions for school groups to learn about water. In each of our curriculum-aligned workshops, students are led through a sophisticated puzzle game that challenges them to use problem solving and critical thinking skills to solve a mystery.

Resource Force:

Students learn about how water is naturally recycled through the water cycle, and how we can utilise technology to recycle water for various purposes, helping to ensure water security for our state. We also discuss Aboriginal communities' connection to land and waters and how water has been managed in the past, present, and into the future.

A Clean Getaway:

Source water is treated before it enters our networks and delivered to customers. This ensures the water is clean and safe to drink, and also that it looks, smells and tastes right.

Students conduct experiments that replicate the real-life processes to turn raw water into drinking water. They get an insight into the different source waters used across South Australia that are treated and then supplied to homes and businesses.

Workshops at a glance:

Suitable for: students in Years 4-7

Duration: 90 minutes

Location: SA Water House, Victoria Square/Tarntanyangga

Maximum capacity: one class per session

Note: We don't recommend booking more than one workshop for your class in one day. It may be hard for students to take in all the info, and the workshop structures are similar so might feel repetitive.
