About this event

TRI Translational Pathways PRIMER Workshop:

Discover your research stakeholders and alternative funding sources

The TRI Translation Pathways Primer Workshop is designed for Early to Mid-Career (EMCR) researchers based at TRI and clinicians working for our partner hospitals. It's the first of three training and coaching modules available at TRI. Following feedback from our EMCRs, in 2022 this workshop will focus on helping you build the network around your research, and identifying alternative sources of funding.

No matter how early-stage your career or research, this workshop will benefit you. It is never too early to start considering the translational (not necessarily commercial) possibilities of your research, and it's potential impact on patient outcomes. Additional, it's never too early to begin conversations with your stakeholders.

This workshop is being run for TRI by Bright Arena, who have a strong track-record in working with researchers to source funding for their projects outside of NHMRC, MRFF and ARC grants.

Is this the same as my uni's research commercialisation workshop?

No, this is very different. It targets the stage before commercialisation, and it's for researchers whose projects may or may not have commercial potential. You will benefit from taking part in TRI's Translation Pathways training and coaching modules as well as attending the UniQuest or QUT research commercialisation workshops/bootcamps.
