About this event

  • 4 hours

The Landscape and Fire Engagement Series is coming to an end! Workshop 6 is the final event!

Saturday 18 May, 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Bungwahl Public School.

Mid Coast 2 Tops Landcare have partnered with MidCoast Council, the Rural Fire Service and University of Western Sydney to trial this new program in our area. Our aim has been to assist rural communities to reduce bushfire risk on their property while protecting biodiversity.

The Landscape and Fire Engagement Series is a program tailored to the Bungwahl community around fire preparedness and management education including how the environment needs and responds to fire.

Come along to the Field Day if you're a landholder interested to learn practical skills and build confidence when it comes to fire management and preparation.

On the day, you can expect:

  • Demonstrations on portable water pumps, using rake hoes and how to use a unlit drip torch
  • Activities for the kids including fire trucks, hoses and more
  • Interactive activities
  • People from the following organisations to chat to:
Bungwahl and Pacific Palms Rural Fire Brigade
    Mid Coast 2 Tops Landcare
    MidCoast Council
    Mid Coast District RFS
  • and more.

There will be a BBQ lunch for a cold coin donation with drinks available on the day.

Don't worry if you missed the past few workshops! Contact Olivia and she can share information that was presented during the past events.

We look forward to seeing you soon!

If you have any questions or would like to discuss the project further, contact our Fire Ecology Education Officer, Olivia Eglin at olivia@midcoast2topslandcare.org or 0437 883 995.
