Description

Working with Male Perpetrators of Family Violence: Reflections on Collusion

Working with Male Perpetrators of Family Violence: Reflections on Collusion will assist practitioners to effectively identify and resist invitations to collude with their use of violence against women and children. This is a companion training to our popular Identifying Family Violence: Responding to Women training.

Developed and delivered by Ada Conroy (NIFVS Workforce Development Officer and experienced men’s behaviour change practitioner), the training is designed for practitioners who may come across male perpetrators in the course of their work. It is not men’s behaviour change facilitator training.

This training is open to practitioners in the northern metropolitan region who have attended Identifying Family Violence: Responding to Women (or similar) in the past two years.

In attending this training, it is expected that you have an understanding of the following:

- The gendered nature of family violence

- The social context under which family violence occurs

- The impact of family violence on women and children, including intersecting barriers

- The Common Risk Assessment Framework (CRAF)

Family violence workers who focus on responses to women and children are also welcome to attend.
