Learn still life, landscape & abstract methods.

Join South Australian artist Katey Smoker for a 4 week evening acrylic painting course designed for beginners to intermediate artists. The course offers a relaxed environment where you can explore, experiment, and enjoy the process of creating.

Dates: Thursday 5 to 26 February 2026
Cost: $30

Suitable for 14yrs plus

Each 2 hour session focuses on a different style:

Week 1: light and shadow in still life
Week 2: landscapes and composition
Week 3: abstract techniques and expression
Week 4: paint your own subject using the skills you have gained

There will also be a demonstration on how to make a ‘wet palette’.

Art Materials list:

  • Artist quality acrylic paints - bring whatever paints you have
  • 3 or 4 paint brushes – Flat or Filbert - size 6 or larger
  • A4 Artist Acrylic Paint Pad - minimum 300gsm, 12 sheets.

Additional items:

  • Masking tape, scissors and 30cm ruler
  • Spray bottle, rags or paper towel and 2 containers/jars for water
  • One small stretched canvas, approx. 40 x 30cm.
