Working and the Disability Support Pension- IN PERSON
A free practical workshop for people with a wide range of disabilities.
ACT Down Syndrome and Intellectual Disability Staff Angela and Gemma will be speaking about the Disability Support Pension and how working can affect it.
Come along to learn about:
- What is the Disability Support Pension (DSP)
- How much money people can get on the DSP
- Pension changes when you get money from a job
- Reporting to Centrelink.
Ask any questions you may have.
Canberra Community Law will also be there to talk about their role in appeals for the Disability Support Pension application process.

If you have any specific dietary needs to be catered for, please let us know ahead of time via the registration form or email us at community@wwdact.org.au and we can organise the event to be inclusive.

The room has lift access available. The venue strives to be inclusive of all mobility needs, please email community@wwdact.org.au to request addiontal information, if required.
Carers and Companions
Carers and companions are included in this free event, and can participate with you. Please book a ticket for them too.
All assistance animals are welcome. Please be advised the venue staff may request to see accreditation (for example, a certificate, token or harness) or other evidence to demonstrate that the animal is properly trained.

Mobility parking is available free of charge with a valid disability parking permit.
Public Transport Stops
ACTION buses R10, 66, and 47 stop at the Denman Prospect Shops on Felstead Vista.
COVID SAFETY
- If you have any cold or flu symptoms do not attend the event, this is not only for covid safety but also general disability safety.
- We encourage masking at our events, N95 masks and hand sanitizer will be available at events.
- If you test positive with covid up to 10 days after the event, please email WWDACT so we can notify the other attendees (community@wwdact.org.au). Your identity will be kept confidential.

What is the Our Autonomy Project?
The DSS has funded WWDACT to run Our Autonomy until June 2027. It's being run by people with disabilities, for people with disabilities to build skills, knowledge, & confidence. It includes 3 parts: Peer events, info & skill building workshops, yearly member magazine.
