NOMìT(Italian Network of Melbourne) Inc. is a non-profit organization based in Melbourne.We support a new generation of Italian migrants and promote contemporary Italian culture in Melbourne and Australia.We provide assistance.NOMìT supports newly arrived Italians in Australia through a free Information Point (Welcome Desk)based at the Consulate General of Italy in Melbourne.The service is also available online for our members, on our websiteswww.italianimelbourne.comandwww.nomit.com.auWe promote culture.NOMIT fosters networking, integration and connection between people with fresh ideas.Through a wide variety of activities, we create opportunities for young people to contribute to Australian cultural debate.We inform and connect people.NOMìT is in charge of Eureka!, a special monthly page hosted by Il Globo, an Italian language newspaper, published in Melbourne. Eureka! is targeted at young Italians, with particular focus on Australian and Italian cultural and social issues.

Nomit Inc. launches the fourth annual Forum on workers' rights, the labour market and career development for migrant workers and young professionals in Australia.
We will be talking about:
-      Migrant Workers and Temporary Visa Holders in the Australian labour market (Peter Mares);
-      General information on salaries, contracts and conditions of Working Holiday and Student Visa holders (Gabrielle Marchetti, Job Watch);
-      Strategies to protect workers’ rights in case of exploitation (Gabrielle Marchetti, Job Watch);
-      Seasonal and Farm Work (Luke Ryan, Fairwork Ombudsman);
-      General legislation and policies on migrant workers in Australia (Marco Cerbo, Italian General Consul).
  
After the speeches, Maria Azzurra Tranfaglia (Research and Teaching Fellow in Labour law at the University of Melbourne) from Nomit will moderate a Panel of professionals, business owners and a career coach to further discuss the topics above, give tips to enter the Australian labour market and answer questions from the audience. 
The Forum will close with a networking aperitivo.
 
During the event, all participants will be able to get a copy of the guide “Work in Progress: guidelines for working in Australia 2017” by Maria Azzurra Tranfaglia and Giovanni Di Lieto.
