About this Event

26 January 2020

Women’s Work Exhibition Opening & Luncheon12pm-3pm.

A photographic exhibition, shot by leading Australian photographer Wayne Quilliam and curated by Rebecca Richards of the South Australian Museum, recognising, celebrating and elevating the passionate leadership of Aboriginal women working on the front lines of the battle to preserve their culture and to achieve social equity for their communities. They are our Australians of the Year 2020.

These current and emerging leaders fight to strengthen and protect their country, culture and people.

On many levels these are the people who support the retention of the deep knowledge gathered over tens of thousands of years that is critically important to all Australians as our world heats physically, spiritually and morally.

The time of crisis is now and these are portraits of just some of the Aboriginal women, whose names and faces should be known – and whose voices and messages should be heard by all Australians in 2020.
