Is there an age limit to enter the course?

Yes, you must be a minimum of 18 years of age to attend (or accompanied by your parent or guardian who is also doing the course). In this instance, you must be a minimum of 15 years of age.

Do I need insurance?

Yes, insurance is required to participate in any RATS Cycling Club events. For more information, please refer to the event overview.

Do I need to know how to ride a bike?

Yes, you need basic bike riding skills.

What do I bring to the event?

You'll need a trail-worthy MTB and an Australian Standard helmet (provided with bike hire). We recommend gloves, sunglasses, comfortable clothing, a full drink bottle or hydration pack, sunscreen, and a small snack for energy. Hire bikes have bottle holders for bike-sized bottles.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

No, we will have a list of all registered participants on the day.

How much is the course?

The total fee for the 2 sessions is $40 if you bring your own bike and helmet, and $50 if you would like to hire a bike and helmet.

What is your refund policy?

Accepted Answer

No refunds are available. In the instance of rain, the event may be cancelled (and refunded) or rescheduled at the organiser's discretion to ensure participant safety and minimise damage to the trails. We cannot guarantee that the new event time will work for all participants in the that case.

What happens if I can’t attend a course or session?

Please contact the organiser asap and prior to the event. This will allow other people on the waiting list to attend the event. There is no guarantee that a spot will be available in the next scheduled course. However, you can be added to the waiting list.

Are there any future riding opportunities?

The course sets riders up to be able to tackle trails on their own, with friends, and/or progress into joining the RATS Chicks Ride weekly social rides (the P-Plate ride once a month is a good place to start). Visit RATS Chicks Ride on Facebook or ratscc.com.au
