Event description

Description

Women’s cycling culture in Canberra, what can we ALL do to get more women cycling every day?

This is an informal evening and a chance to bring together women who are experienced in everyday cycling with those who are new including e-bike users, new mums, grand mums, adventurers, health professionals, eco-stylists and elite athletes. Kate Auty (ACT Commissioner for Sustainability and the Environment – and e-bike ambassador) will facilitate the discussion.

This session builds on previous events that have explored the barriers and identified some solutions. The task will be to identify how individuals, the community, government, employers, and families can make this happen.

Are you a role model or changemaker or just someone who wants to get better habits of riding to your local shops or your friend’s place?

Experienced participants will be tasked with bringing an individual who is open to change. Everyone should come in the spirit of taking some personal action.

Background to Spoke Up!-for women's health

Transport Canberra and City Services is encouraging all women to Spoke Up for women’s health. Celebrate this Women’s Health Week (2- 8 September) and kickstart your cycling habit for small trips in your community.

Bring your sisters, mothers, daughters, friends and colleagues and join us in a series of events throughout the week. For more information and events, visit www.transport.act.gov.au/news.
