This workshop is suitable for all social workers and community support practitioners who are seeking in depth knowledge of family law.

This training will build support workers’ capacities and confidence to guide and support their client through the family law system, especially when there is family violence, and children’s matters.

What will you learn:

    • How to understand the basic foundation of our family law system
    • Ways to describe the process of a family law matter through the family law court system.
    • What the law says about children’s arrangements and best interests
    • To identify the different types of agreements that can be made, and options if your client wants to change the orders
    • What are critical and urgent legal “red flag” issues their client should be aware of at separation
    • To identify and describe the roles of a Family Consultant and an ICL
