Located on Dharawal Country, Wollongong Art Gallery is one of the largest regional art museums in Australia.Entry is free and we are open Tuesday to Friday 10am – 5pm, and Saturday to Sunday 12pm – 4pm (excluding public holidays).We present an exciting range of exhibitions and activities that showcase the energy and creativity of the Illawarra region, as well as touring exhibitions of national and international significance. Wollongong Art Gallery FLOW Contemporary Watercolour Prize $20,000 (Acquisitive)

FLOW Wollongong Art Gallery National Contemporary Watercolour Prize is a biennial acquisitive competition open to artists from around Australia. The prize aims to encourage innovation and experimentation in watercolour painting, including works on paper in watercolour, acrylic, gouache, pen and ink, and watercolour mixed media. C﻿ONDITIONS OF ENTRY:1﻿. FLOW Wollongong Art Gallery National Contemporary Watercolour Prize (Acquisitive) is a national prize, open to all Australian Artists.2﻿. Entries are limited to one work per entrant and must be the original, unaided work of the entrant and have been completed in the twelve months prior to the exhibition date.3. The prize is for paintings on paper only using pigment that requires water as a soluble agent. 4. A non-refundable entry fee of $59.26 is paid on entering this Prize. 5. The judge’s decision will be final, and no correspondence will be entered into. 6. The judge reserves the right to select works for display in the exhibition. 7. It is preferred that entries are suitably framed and ready to hang with D hooks attached. 3D works and pinned works on paper are also accepted.8. No entries may be removed during the exhibition. 9. Name, address and phone number of entrant and title of the work must be clearly marked on the back of the work.10. The price of works which are for sale must be clearly marked on the back of the work.11. A commission of 20% will be deducted from all sales.12. Insurance is the full responsibility of the entrant. The Gallery will exercise all care but will accept no liability or responsibility for loss or damage of works.13. Delivery and collection of works will be the full responsibility of the entrant. Works not collected by the date specified will be disposed of at the discretion of the Gallery.14. Entrants shall allow their work to be reproduced for publicity purposes and waive any copyright claims in this instance.15. The size of the work submitted shall not exceed 120 x 120cm (framed size), or 120 x 120 x 120cm (3D works).16. FLOW Wollongong Art Gallery National Contemporary Watercolour Prize winning work will be acquired by Wollongong Art Gallery.1﻿7. Staff directly employed by Wollongong Art Gallery or Wollongong City Council (permanent, casual) and their family members, may enter the FLOW Contemporary Watercolour Prize and be selected to be hung in the exhibition, however their entry is not eligible to be considered to win the prize. Entry or prize eligibility is not restricted for Wollongong Art Gallery volunteers or workers who are sub-contracted.
