Meet fellow readers and discover new authors in our friendly, relaxed and informal genre-based book club.

Starting 8 January 2026, join the Withers Book Club for a cuppa or two and talk about your latest read with others in this relaxed book club!

The group runs on the second Thursday of each month from 2pm-3pm.

Q: How is this book club different?

Members do not read the same titles as traditional book clubs, which encourages open discussion of a member's current read, which they have personally selected.

Q: How does it work exactly?

Withers Book Club has a set theme that members are encouraged to match each month. The schedule is outlined below to allow each person to read at their own pace or discuss a previously read book. Each member will read a different book, giving the group the opportunity to hear about and discuss a variety of titles, authors, and genres.

On these dates, we will be discussing books related to the corresponding themes:

• 8 January - Australian
• 12 February - Crime
• 12 March - Memoir
• 9 April - Romance
• 14 May - Fantasy
• 11 June - Your favourite book
• 9 July - Adventure
• 13 August - A book set in another country
• 10 September - Historical
• 8 October - Thriller
• 12 November - A book with a person's name in the title
• 10 December - A book you have always wanted to read
