Monday 6th July: Fantastic Fungi - ceramics
Enter the mysterious and magical world of fungi in this ceramic workshop. Fungi are some of the oldest organisms on this planet. Fungi networks are underground, web-like structures that can extend kilometres underground, connecting different plants and sharing information. There is something fascinating and amazing about fungus! Be inspired by different kinds of fungi such as the classic Fly Agaric ‘shroom, with its deadly red cap and white dots, bioluminescent mushrooms that glow in the dark to other kinds of edible mushrooms such as Turkey Tail mushrooms that grow on trees, Lionsmain, Oyster mushrooms and so many more! Create a ceramic base for your mushrooms to grow, like a fallen tree or a grassy meadow and build the most fantastic fungi creation you can imagine. Colour your work with ceramic colourants and it will be fired in a kiln and glazed to give your mushrooms a glossy surface. Work will be available to pickup after the Vacation program

Tuesday 7th July: Winter Lanterns - ceramics
Lighting a Candle is part of many traditions. We light them for birthdays, religious festivals, special dinners and to create an ambience or a mood of celebration. A lantern is a vessel that contains light, often with piercings and holes cut from it to let the light out. In this workshop we will coilbuild a vase-like vessel. We will then draw patterns and cut out these patterns so that the light may flow through these spaces, creating a glowing pattern and image. Be inspired by the winter mood and the symbology of a light in the dark. Winter is the darkest and coldest month of the year, and candles were traditionally lit to offer a light source and lift the mood with warm light. Your lantern will be decorated with underglazes, fired in a kiln and glazed so it has a glossy surface. Available for pickup after the Vacation program.

Wednesday 8th July: Dreamscapes - painting & drawing
Step into the dreamworld, where anything is possible in this imaginative and creative painting & drawing workshop. Take inspiration from your dreams to create a flowing and enchanting painting, or enter the world of surrealism with bizarre and other worldly imagery. From floating gold clouds in violet skies, to aquamarine oceans full of sparkling stars, what worlds do you visit in your dreams and can you capture them with pen, paint and paper?
