WiA: Chemical Safety Workshop

Ladies of Mackay/Whitsunday/Isaac region are invited to a relaxed, hands-on workshop hosted by Farmacist for women who live or work on farms. The session builds confidence in agricultural chemical use and safety, with a focus on safe and sustainable farming practices.

What will you learn:

  • Labels - What to look for and how to interpret
  • Safety Data Sheets - SDS and what them mean
  • Nozzle selection - Drift, droplet size DEMO
  • With holding periods - post application, restocking & slaughter
  • Understanding buffers
  • Chemical record keeping
  • Spray water quality
  • Surfactants - wetting agents
  • Weed management planning
  • Fine scale water quality project OVERVIEW

What to bring/wear

  • Closed in shoes
  • Water bottle
  • Hat

What we’ll provide:

  • Smoko (please let me know if you have dietary requirements)
  • Goodies bag provided by Farmacist Pty Ltd (Mackay)
  • Places are limited
