WiA: Chemical Safety Workshop
Ladies of Mackay/Whitsunday/Isaac region are invited to a relaxed, hands-on workshop hosted by Farmacist for women who live or work on farms. The session builds confidence in agricultural chemical use and safety, with a focus on safe and sustainable farming practices.
What will you learn:
- Labels - What to look for and how to interpret
- Safety Data Sheets - SDS and what them mean
- Nozzle selection - Drift, droplet size DEMO
- With holding periods - post application, restocking & slaughter
- Understanding buffers
- Chemical record keeping
- Spray water quality
- Surfactants - wetting agents
- Weed management planning
- Fine scale water quality project OVERVIEW
What to bring/wear
- Closed in shoes
- Water bottle
- Hat
What we’ll provide:
- Smoko (please let me know if you have dietary requirements)
- Goodies bag provided by Farmacist Pty Ltd (Mackay)
