Overview

Join archivist Ali Marchant on a specially designed tour for university students.

University can seem overwhelming at first.
New places, new people, new ways of studying.

But did you know that the State Library and Archives Tasmania has a range of amazing resources to help you on your university journey?

Whether you’re a student of business, history, English, or science (and everything in between) there are items in the collection that are relevant to your research and studies.

We have eleven storeys, and kilometres and kilometres of collections that you can use for your research and essays.

We have free access to newspapers, financial reviews and magazines, as well as popular journals.

After a quiet place to study? We have loads of loud and quiet spaces for you here.

But how do you know what there is, and how to access it?

Ali Marchant is an archivist and she is offering snapshot tours of the collections, and hints and tips about the best way to discover what you need to know.

These tours will take you behind the scenes, and no bags are permitted in that area. We will provide a safe space to store anyting you may arrive with.

Spaces are limited, registrations are required.
